Rope Skipping Camp 2010 was held at Rope Skipping
Singapore where lessons and sleeping time was in air-conditioning. This
gets at least 30 percent more mileage than skipping in the Singapore
heat and humidity so it is almost a necessity to have air-conditioning
especially with young bodies who are more susceptable to heat stroke
than teenagers or adults.
Participants where privy to new choroegraphy ideas, skills and fusion
moves that will undoubtably set some trends in 2011. Newly created pair
interaction skills called the Magic collection lead the pack of new
ideas. There was emphasis on performance skipping too as all the
participants are fusion skippers and many will compete at one
Double Dutch Constest or another in 2011.
Drinking water was all
mineral water and meals where freshly
cooked food at the hawker center, coffee shops or MacDonalds
downstairs.
The meals times in the fresh air downstairs creates a relaxed socially
interactive
ambience between lessons. This high quality of life camp improves
ropes skipping but perhaps more importantly encourages self-reliance
and rational thinking which are cornerstones for a successful athlete.
